This vintage thobe is embroidered on luxurious, high-end cotton-linen, featuring the leech motif—a traditional symbol in Palestinian embroidery, especially associated with the city of Ramallah. Also known as the “S-pattern” (Harf S), the motif has roots in traditional medicine and was historically believed to bring health and wellbeing to the wearer.
The thobe comes with a charming matching vest, finished with crocheted scalloped edges—a delightful design detail that beautifully completes the ensemble.
This piece is a high-end example of the finest work produced by Palestinian tatreez co-ops in Gaza and the West Bank. The embroidery itself reflects the hand of an elite craftswoman—the reverse side is remarkably clean, a mark of true mastery.
