The 1960–70s Saraqeb Thobe from Syria
We’re honored to offer this rare handmade Saraqeb thobe, crafted in the 1960s–70s on polished black cotton with striking colorwork.
The asymmetrical side panels were drawn on with a sewing machine—an embroidery shortcut typical of the era—while the chest, back, and sleeves feature hand-stitched tatreez. ❤️
Some small signs of repair, as expected with vintage pieces. One very small hole on the chest panel that can be easily repaired. See photos.
If you’re a thobe or tatreez collector, this is one to treasure—Syrian embroidery is rare and incredibly hard to come by.
