1970s Tahriri Dress in Cobalt Blue (Small)
This 1970s tahriri stitch dress is playful and distinctly groovy. Crafted from elegant cobalt blue colored stretch polyester, it features beautiful hand embroidered tahriri work with a lovely silver cord. A palm motif runs down the front, while a feather motif frames the neckline.
The dress is shaped with soft pleating at the waist, a hallmark of 1970s silhouettes, creating a flattering cinched look. It includes a back zipper closure, slight bell sleeves, and a small front slit for ease of movement.
Garments like this were produced in Palestinian co-ops, where embroidery was adapted into modern styles for life in diaspora. We are honored to offer this piece of Palestinian co-op fashion in our shop.
Condition
Overall in great vintage condition. There are a few tiny snags in the fabric which is normal wear considering the age of the dress.
Measurements (laid flat)
Armpit to armpit: 18.5”
Shoulder to hem: 20”
Hips: 20”
Fit
Best fits women’s US size small, approximately US 2 to 4.
A size 6 may work if you prefer a closer fit through the bust and hips.
✨ PLEASE NOTE ✨
All SAMAKA pieces are antique or vintage and may show signs of age — minor wear or patina that reflect their unique histories. Nothing is perfect, and that’s exactly the charm of vintage and antique clothing. We encourage you to read descriptions carefully and reach out with any questions before purchasing.
We do not offer online checkout. Every piece is sold through one-on-one conversation to ensure an intentional, intimate shopping experience.
