The 1960-1970s Bethlehem Taqsirah Vest

$320.00

The 1960-1970s Bethlehem Taqsirah Vest

Handmade in Bethlehem in the 1960s–70s, this velvet vest features the “Tahriri” stitch—a traditional couching technique that uses metal wire, gold thread, and silk threads to mold spiraling, floral motifs.

The medallion motif at the center draws from Ottoman military-style jackets and is one of the more common motifs seen on taqsirahs.

Taqsirahs are usually worn over thobes but at SAMAKA, we love the opportinity to incorporate traditional pieces into everyday looks. Wear this vest with a pair of jeans as seen on our lovely model or a dress for more formal occasions.

This vest fits a size XS-S (2-6).

PLEASE READ
All SAMAKA pieces are antique or vintage and may show signs of age—minor wear or patina that reflect their unique histories. Nothing is perfect, and that’s exactly the charm of vintage and antique clothing. We encourage you to read descriptions carefully and reach out with any questions before purchasing.

We do not offer online checkout. Every piece is sold through one-on-one conversation to ensure an intentional, intimate shopping experience.
