Made from a soft black woven cotton base, with delicate floral embroidery running along the sides to frame the silhouette. The cuffs are finished with matching floral motifs. The piece features a strong square chest panel, along with an A-line silhouette typical of the region, allowing the fabric to fall naturally and fluidly through the body.
The embroidery style here is called Nool, Liff, or Tara.
The lower panel features a bold floral composition, with hints of electric blue that feel especially delightful, giving the piece a joyful, expressive presence. Dresses like these were commonly purchased by tourists in local markets from the 1960s–1980s as keepsakes.
Condition:
Very faint stain on the front that did not come out with professional cleaning. Some small areas of wear on the neckline and on a few seams. This is normal wear for a thobe of this age.

We have repaired some of the seams, and reinforced the button closure in the back. The dress has been professionally cleaned and is ready to wear.
